First I want to declare a requirement for this post. This post is NOT for criticisms! I get it, there are a lot of you out there who simply don’t trust the platform. That’s fine. But that is not what this post is for. If you want to complain and criticize do it somewhere else. Make your own post, find another, hell find one of my older posts, idc. Just don’t do it here because it will just get deleted. This post is for optimism.
Now, what I personally think we are going to get on launch will be INCREDIBLY bare bones, at least in regards to the first/third person game play. In fact I expect the only real thing we will be able to do in first/third is just walk/drive/fly around the earth and look at everything people have built. It will be many more years before we get any kind of significant first person activities.
However, first/third person game play is not going to be the only thing we get at launch. As we have seen in footage, Earth2 will have a complete top-down “google earth” style interactive map that can zoom in down to eye level. I believe this is where most people in these early stages will spend most of their time. It will play similarly to a Sims game where you use your top down view to build your buildings, towns, cities, etc. It’s where we will manage pretty much every aspect of our properties from infrastructure to resources allocation to civilian management, and any future systems that are added.
Even the top down aspect I am really looking forward to. Sure it will be minimal but it sounds fun to me. Even if all I can do is build some buildings and walk around them. Just having a foundation that will forever be improved and grow will be exciting and imagine myself spending a lot of time in it. Especially if profits from essence and resources become reality.
What do you guys think? Anyone have any ideas on what things will be like?
